Galehead Announces Key 2021 M&A Transactions

Rendition of 100-acre site and Galehead pipeline project under development in the Mid-Atlantic U.S.

BOSTON (January 25, 2022) – Galehead Development, an independent Boston-based energy development platform, announced the sale of approximately 600 MW of its development pipeline in the 4th quarter of 2021. The transactions include solar and solar-plus-storage development pipeline spanning the PJM and WECC markets.

“Galehead continues to execute on its strategy of market development, upstream specialization and transactions with leading IPPs and Energy Transition investors to commercialize our pipeline,” said Matt Marino, CEO.

In PJM, Galehead and REV Renewables closed on the sale of two solar development projects comprising a 95 MW portfolio.

Additionally, Galehead and Clearway Energy Group closed on the sale of two western development projects comprising over 500 MW of solar-plus-storage capacity, expanding on the the track record of partnership between the two companies. Galehead originated the projects as part of a 2018 market development strategy by leveraging its LandCommand® siting software and in-house development capabilities. Clearway is one of the largest developers and owner-operators of utility-scale wind and solar across the United States. Following the sale, Clearway will manage all remaining development and construction through to commercial operations. The projects will serve demand for the load-growth and procurement plans of western utilities.
