Treaty Oak Clean Energy to Acquire 250 MW MISO-South Project from Galehead Development

AUSTIN (January 16, 2024) – Treaty Oak Clean Energy, LLC has entered into an agreement to acquire a utility-scale solar plus storage project in MISO-South from affiliates of Galehead Development, LLC. The acquisition adds 250 MW of late-stage solar and storage project capacity to Treaty Oak’s portfolio and provides additional opportunities to partner with communities and energy consumers in the MISO-South area on clean, cost-competitive and reliable energy solutions. The project is expected to reach commercial operations in the first half of 2026, and the transaction includes further joint investment in Galehead’s “ReAcre” land conservation initiative.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Treaty Oak is a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management and continues to grow its portfolio of solar and storage projects across its target markets through greenfield development activities and M&A.  “We appreciate the continued partnership and opportunity to work with Galehead on another late-stage project,” said Chris Elrod, Chief Executive Officer at Treaty Oak. “The project is ideally located in MISO-South, a priority market for Treaty Oak due to robust market fundamentals and the opportunity to support decarbonization in one of the most carbon-intensive regions of the U.S.”
